About me
Hey 👋. You somehow landed here. Maybe from my 𝕏 profile, or I've sent you a marketing email, or you were aimlessly Googling people.
Doesn't matter. This page is where I introduce myself. If you care for some reason, keep reading.
You might have noticed that here I sell things. Access to tools, access to knowledge, access to my time.
I need to convince you to pay me for all that stuff. Makes sense? So that's why this page exists.
Where I come from
The personal bit: I'm another 30-something tech guy, wife and a kid, born in sunny Spain, near the sea.
Dropped out of university where I was studying physics to work in tech, which was what I had been doing all along anyway.
I've tried it all. Working as the computer guy in non-tech industries, as a grunt in a dev shop, as a lead developer and even a CTO.
None of those ever felt right. Something was missing.
It was freedom. I felt trapped. I felt like I was wasting my time.
I felt like I was wasting my life.
How I got where I am
After a couple of years being the tech lead on a product development team in not-so-sunny Berlin I decided to go freelance. And I got hooked. So much that I had to start my own company. And I did.
I ran my own web, development and ecommerce shop for 4 years, totalling over $1M in revenue and 10+ employees. I learned a lot, but I also learned that I didn't want to run a company. I burned out hard.
My cure for burnout was earning back my time. And spending it not on idling, but on exploring. More freelancing, side projects, networking, writing and lots of learning. Nowadays, my agency is run by my co-founder, and I'm limited to a few hours a week of advisory and fire extinguishing here and there.
And the rest of the time I keep learning, teaching and building.
What I do and why you may care
I share what I learn and what I do. That's why this site exists. And to also apply those teachings myself, by creating tools and products that help people and, sure, make money too. I want to help people who are in the same situation I was in a few years ago, and I want to help people who are in the same situation I am in now.
If that interests you, then you are in the right place. Here's what I can offer:
- I build in public — That means that I'm transparent about what I do, what works and doesn't and how to do it. Follow me there to keep track and see the dirty underside of entrepreneurship.
- I publish helpful content, free and paid — When I learn something new or useful, I write about it, create a video or a course. You can find it all there.
- I keep a blog — That's where the deeper thoughts and learnings live. I also write about my failures, which are many. The longer-form version of tweets and videos.
- I maintain several services and tools you may find useful — I'm a developer at heart, and I love building things. I also love to share them with others. You can find them all in the home page.
Keeping in touch
If you want to reach me, the best way is to follow me on 𝕏. You can also DM me there. I'm also on LinkedIn, but I'm not very active there. And there's always the old trusty email.
